Greetings!

I'm Spencer Hunley, an Autistic professional based in Kansas City, Missouri. I currently serve on the Executive Committee for the Kansas City League of Autistics, and previously served as interim president and board member of the Autism Society - the Heartland. In 2022, I was appointed to the Missouri Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders, and am currently finishing my undergrad in Psychology at UMKC. My current advocacy efforts focus on improving healthcare outcomes for Autistics and other neurodivergent individuals through advocacy and policy change through the lens of the social and/or ICF model of disability.

In addition to my autistic advocacy, I'm a strong proponent of free/open-source assistive/accessible technology, in the past presenting on topics including: how accessible and assistive technology would benefit from more Linux and open-source contributions, inclusion of people with disabilities in the Linux community, and how people with disabilities can be an asset for Linux and other open-source projects.

In my spare time I enjoy yoyoing, playing board games and assist in production of a podcast called Neurologic (you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts, or just visit neurologic.libsyn.com).
